« La Grande Marmite en Tournée » : A tremendous success for the community

More than 500 volunteers came together to prepare and distribute 120,000 meals.

On May 22 and 23, our region came together in an extraordinary show of solidarity for the launch event of the Culinary Academy, La Grande Marmite On Tour. Thanks to the participation of more than 500 volunteers, ranging in age from 2 to 97, the event was an overwhelming success.

Over the course of the two-day event, volunteers produced 20,000 ready-to-cook soup kits, representing more than 120,000 meals that will be distributed throughout our community. Of these, 60,000 meals will be provided to schools within the Beauce-Etchemin School Service Centre, while the remaining 60,000 meals will be distributed through local food assistance programs in partnership with Moisson Beauce.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to La Tablée des Chefs, Avantis Cooperative, and the Beauceville Rotary Clubs for their invaluable collaboration and support in making this community-driven initiative possible.

A special thank you goes to our three guest chefs, who generously offered complimentary tastings to participants throughout the event:

  • Stéphane Modat, owner of the restaurant Le Clan
  • Philippe Clément, co-owner of the restaurant La Sitelle
  • Alexandre Bouchard, co-owner of the restaurant Le Saindoux

Their presence and generosity helped create a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience for everyone involved.

La Grande Marmite On Tour once again demonstrated the remarkable spirit of generosity that defines our region and the willingness of citizens to take meaningful action in support of local families and youth.

Building on this success, an ambitious goal has already been set for next year: producing 50,000 ready-to-cook soup kits.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and heart to make this event such a memorable achievement.
