Saputo's Big Cook Up

At the heart of the Kitchen Brigades

November 22, 2018 - The 125 Quebec high schools that host the Tablée des Chefs' Kitchen Brigades have been mobilizing over the last few weeks to take part in the Saputo Big Cook Up. The challenge was to prepare 50 nutritious lasagnas per school and then hand them over to a community organization in their area. A total of 50,000 portions were distributed to people in need.

Doing Your Part in the Community with Saputo's Big Cook Up

Saputo's Big Cook Up fits perfectly with the mission of La Tablée des Chefs which aims to feed people in need. This community engagement program, launched in 2017 by Saputo, a long-time partner, has distinguished itself by its unique formula and its unifying effect, both for employees who prepare meals and for poor families who enjoy them. Thus, La Tablée des Chefs chose to support Saputo's Big Cook Up by placing this initiative at the heart of the Kitchen Brigades. This year, for the first time, the young participants developed their culinary education while amplifying the social impact of this great community project.

The importance of Kitchen Brigades in schools

Kitchen Brigades is a program set up by La Tablée des Chefs to introduce youths between the ages of 12 and 17 to cooking. The goal is to mobilize young people around basic cooking techniques and principles of healthy lifestyle. It allows youths to live a remarkable and exciting experience in the school setting while developing their cooking skills. La Tablée des Chefs wishes to present the culinary training program in 200 high schools in Quebec, by 2020.
