Since 2013 and thanks to the ABC Foundation, La Tablée des Chefs organization has had the opportunity to start working in Mexico.  The need for food for people suffering from food insecurity prompted us to hire Florence Roy-Allard to expand our services to broker sustainable food in Mexico City!  Over the past 2 years, The Chef Table has continued to expand its activities to the Mexican community. Here’s what we’ve done in Mexico :

New —

The very first edition of La Grande Tablée in Mexico, at La Cena con Sentido, has gathered 185 guests and collected more than 100,928 Mexican pesos. All the profits have been reinvested in the various programs of La Tablée des Chefs.

FEED | SUSTAINABLE FOOD BROKERAGE SERVICES 

8236 portions were redistributed, since the start of our service in 2013, to Mexicans in need through food recovery service!

Semaine des Écoles Hôtelières

In an effort to feed more Mexicans in need of help, we created an event bringing together the next generation in hotel kitchens. The Hotel Schools Week allows students to give back by volunteering in various food activities.

Semaine des Écoles Hôtelières en 2014 : More than 500 students from 4 universities generously prepared 20,000 servings of meatballs.

Semaine des Écoles Hôtelières 2015 : More than 700 students from 7 universities generously prepared 30,500  servings of Yakimeshi Rice.

Food chores

5 food chores during which hotel employees mobilized to produce a large quantity of a same recipe. More than 700 meals have been distributed to people in need.

EDUCATE | CULINARY YOUTH TRAINING PROGRAM 


Approximately 150 young Mexicans participated in culinary education activities with La Tablée des Chefs affiliated chefs.

  SPECIAL HONOR IN 2015: 

La Tablée des Chefs France was named the winner of "La France s’engage ", an initiative of the French President that highlights and supports socially innovative projects in France. La Tablée des Chefs was selected as the winner of this prestigious title in December 2015.

Since 2013, La Tablée des Chefs has been approached by France to develop the organization overseas.  Our collegues Vincent Brassart and Lyndsi Baker, in collaboration with honorary sponsors Elior et Calixir (Member of les Traiteurs de France) are working hard to pursue the mission and the activities of La Tablée des Chefs .

Semaine des Écoles hôtelières:

In order to be able to feed more French people in need of help, we created an event bringing together the next generation of chefs.  The Hotel Schools Week allows students to give back by participating in food activities.

Hotel schools Week in 2014 :  Several students of a school French hospitality school generously prepared 1000 meals.

Hotel schools Week in 2015 :  Students from three universities, generously prepared 3 000 meals.

Food chores :

5 food chores organized in the corporate environment have allowed to distribute 1,200 cooked dishes to people suffering from food insecurity.

EDUCATE | CULINARY YOUTH TRAINING PROGRAM

  • 40 young adults in a shelter attended a culinary workshop (2014-2015). Many adults in precarious situations attended five workshops held at Epicerie Solidaire of the Association Aurore (2014)
  • First Iron Chef bringing together 24 young people from a children’s shelter, in the Stade de Rugby de France (2015)
  • Implementation of the Brigades Culinaires program  for the official launch in high schools in France in early 2016.
